Cool Old Bears don't become tame ones.

You know it kinda made (MAD) sense, the 'Evil Empire' with Ronny R., as the guy who faced down the Bear, red stars marked targets, muj didn't all wear civilian Muslim robes and hide in mosques shooting AK's at us from behind the dresses of their women or kids. I kind of miss the ID-FF (Dr. Strangelove) concept! Still smarting from the Cuban missile show-down, on October 22, 1962 JFK postured nuclear against a still raging Nikita S. Khrushchev,:ranting2: Soviet Premier to Western ambassadors at a reception in Moscow 17 Nov 56: "Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!" Smashing his shoe on the podium for a bit of Cossack flair. Then the wall came down and IMHO that was no victory, it just allowed free right of passage into the rest of the EU by sworn communists posing as born again capitalist$. Vlad Putin (ex-KGB with a liking for E-Germany 1975-1990) and Clinton cutting U.S. military strength in half with pen-strokes, saving Soviet bombs from doing it with force, with a smiling Russian counterpart swearing peace & cooperation with our new friends in the west. Cheating on his wife and most of the American public was all the rage of Gladnost! On the last day of the 20th century, Boris Yeltsin resigned and appointed Vlad as acting president. Presidential elections were held on March 26, 2000. Putin received 52.94 percent of all votes, sounds about as fudged as the same thing happening in Florida only a few months earlier when another Bush grew on the White House lawn out of questionable fertilizer. The inauguration took place on May 7, 2000. The "grey cardinal" stepped down to even more power than he ever had as the president because the KGB never really went away they just changed their suits and bought up nations with ex-Soviet obsolete weaponry, just like we do with the Saudis and those other oil-rich 'allied' caliphates trading oil for old U.S. weapons was our gig with 'Uncle Saddam' when he went after those bad old Iranians, and make no mistake that bear is blood-red and Russian to his dying day, may it be real soon.
Now if we could only figure out how to seed the start of a good old conventional Chinese vs. Russian war of attrition that did not suck us in and we could supply both sides with copies of Windows Vista to mess both sides tactical targeting computers up :icon_question: Bill Gate$ could then pay off our national debt, and still be stinking rich!
" We're going to have to fight the Russians eventually anyway. It might as well be now while we've already got the army here to do it." George S. Patton (A Prophet?)
Thinking like that could get a nice wolf like me in trouble....just another bad dream I guess, howlllll.....

Canis-Lupus :whatever:
