I've heard lots of great things about this group. Luke should try to get them to sign on as a sponsor.

You are mistaken, THERE IS THAT KIND OF LOP-SIDED DIFFERENCE, EVEN MORE SO THEN THE REPUBLICANS HAD... The Democrat's currently have such a majority in Congress, that they can pass any piece of legislation without a single republican or independent vote...

The democrats have such a super majority in congress right now; they have overridden the presidential veto twice this year! THANKS TO Harry "Gun-Banning" Reid and Nancy "No-Guns, No-Ammo" Pelosi...

Coupled with the fact that 2-3 supreme court justices will be appointed in the next 4-8 years; dark days are truly ahead if we end up with Gun Ban Obama-Biden...
All branches of the Government would have a liberal, socialist majority!

Obama-Biden = FUBAR!

E.G.: Most recently...
The democrats were the biggest supporters of the 700 billion bailout... but could not pass it the first time around because 22 democrats joined the republicans who saw this for what it was a tax bill, laden with pork...
I digress...

Owned guns and CWP/CCW permits and pro-gun lobbyist group(s) do not mean anything if THEY ARE BANNED AND REVOKED...

pro-gun lobbyists are falling on deaf ears in congress, and you can count on one hand how many non-republican supporters of the second amendment there remain in congress...

Obama has repeatedly been on record as stating his position has always been that he is opposed to Concealed Carry Permits and will remain opposed to it!

And the NRA did not sell us out on the Joe Biden authored Assault Weapons Ban, that Slick-Willie signed and sunset in 2004 when it came up for permanent renewal; because the then republican majority congress refused to even vote on it...

What the NRA did sell us out on as EVERY OTHER PRO-GUN LOBBYIST HAS DONE TO DATE; is failing to oppose the May 19th, 1986 ban of ownership of machine guns by law abiding citizens, manufactured since the aforementioned date...
Effectively banning an ENTIRE CLASS OF FIREARM...
That NONE of the pro-gun lobbists are trying to amend/repeal, even though it went through Congress without a recorded vote in the middle of the night...
Moreover, is yet another piece of anti-gun legislation THAT HAS GUN-GRABBING SENATOR JOE BIDEN'S NAME ON IT!

In fact, Socialist Global Gun Banner Barack Obama's V.P. Pick, anti-second amendment Joe Biden has his name on more anti-gun pieces of legislation then any current member of congress, including Ted Kennedy and Hanoi John Kerry...

Ask, the Citizens of England, Australia and Canada and other socialist leaning country's that have banned firearm ownership by its citizens if having pro-gun lobbists has helped them get back their rights; or change the fact that they now enjoy the highest crime rate in the world with the very firearms they are banned from owning legally...

Do yourself a favor and do a little research on the history of the total gun bans in England, Australia and elsewhere... see how they got where they are at and the very similar road we are headed if Gun Ban Obama-Biden get in office...

Even if John McCain wins, the Democratic-controlled Senate would never approve his Supreme Court nominees, so he may have to appoint liberals to appease the Democrats and fill Supreme Court vacancies.

As for your statement that the NRA did not sell us out on the AWB, it was the NRA who, instead of outright opposing the AWB, provided the definition to include any weapon that had two or more of any of the following: detachable magazine, bayonet lug, pistol grip, grenade launcher, heat shields, and collapsible/folding stocks. It was also the NRA who, instead of outright opposing the bill, made sure it had a sunset provision. If the NRA were so intent on standing up for gun owners that time, it would have opposed he bill outright rather than trying to water it down.

What about us Black people and OUR guns? Or does he buy into the stereotype that the typical gun owner is a bigoted, white, Christian redneck?

Personally I would vote for McCain. I hope some of the dems in office get booted. And I wonder if Biden would send his son off without a weapon to fight? I think any ban would only take firearms away from law abiding citizens and create more crime, only the criminals would have them. I think if we are disarmed and a criminal has a gun, he would feel he could get away with more without consecquences or very little punishment. Honest people right now are on the street wondering where they can get a meal and a place to sleep, why should we give criminals more? Firearm related crimes should be a max punishment and maybe less will use them for criminal acts. Jobs for Americans is the big thing I would like to see from our government. Anyway my 3 cents.

Not at all. There are 49 Democrats, 2 Independents and 49 Republicans in the Senate. Those two Independents generally run with the Democrats, so they have an effective majority of 51 - hardly a "supermajority".

Similarly, the House has 235 Democrats and 199 Republicans, so they have a 54.3% majority.

Most votes are not strictly along party lines - there's people from both sides that will waver on particular issues. The dominant party can sometimes get enough of the minority to go along with things to overturn a veto or break a filibuster.

From 2005-2007, it looked like this:

Senate
Republican - 55% (55)
Democrat - 45% (44)

House
Republican - 53% (229)
Democrat - 47% (202)

So, the Democrats now have a slightly larger proportion than we did at that time in the House - but at that time we vastly outdistanced their current numbers in Senate. House Republicans tend to be somewhat more conservative than their colleagues in the Senate, so that's actually our strong area because they're more likely to remain more unified on votes. Notice that the bailout got hung up in the House on the first trip around but passed when it came out of the Senate (with tax breaks to make it more tasty).

So I'm not saying we should all get complacent because the NRA, GOA or whoever is going to shield us. Nope...I'm saying, even if Democrats kick our asses this time around, don't despair, because we'll return it next time.

This is a good excuse to get every breathing person you know to sign up as a member of a solid gun rights organization, even if you have to give them the money for the dues. We should also get everyone we know to get a CWP and to shower their elected officials with gun-related correspondence. Support gun show vendors, write letters to the editor, do whatever possible - 130% effort - to see to it that our rights continue to be protected.

If anyone needs any motivation, just carry around a wallet-sized picture...

Just to be clear, this picture is Obama visiting family in Kenya, not middle eastern terrorists.
