| So exactly where in the Constitution does it say it is a right and where does it say that taxpayers should pay for others?

| well funny thing... it is nowhere to be found. and her opinion on the matter does not over rule the constitution... at least it shouldn't. I know the officials have been getting flooded with letters from people opposing this garbage, and do they care to represent the people? NO! they need to be reminded that they work for us and not the other way around.

What we need are term limits, but of course, that's like asking the fox to stop the fox from raiding the chicken coop. So, I'm pessimisitic as hell. What we have is a ruling aristocracy that believes it's above the law that it imposes on the rest of us. Couple all this with the fact that probably half the country now votes for someone to GIVE them something. What to do? I don't know, but I get fatigued by the "vote them out" cheer. Never seems to do any good. All my life, I've watched things go from bad to worse, Dems, Repubs, makes no difference. Sorry about the rant, brother. |

| Many things are desirable to have but are not rights. Health care is one of them. You have the right to the free exercise of religion, you have the right peaceably to assemble, you have the right not to have troops quartered in your home. You have the right to keep and bear arms. But you don't have the right to food, clothing, shelter, HDTV, or medical care. You are at liberty to pursue education, but you do not have a right to it. All those things are nice, but they're not rights. Glad Stabenow is pro health care? You mean glad she is pro SOCIALIST health care—the most expensive there is, also the worst. |

| Festus. I used your letter from your thread Here is the letter I sent to my senators and this is the lame response I got back. I mean I know she did not read the letter I sent and everything. but man... what a ding bat!!! get her out of office! Thank you for contacting me about a public option as a part of comprehensive health insurance reform. I share your support for a meaningful public health insurance choice. I have been a leading advocate for a strong public health insurance option. In the Finance Committee, I voted twice for amendments to include a public option in the bill. I firmly believe that a public option is the best way to hold insurance companies accountable and keep costs down for American families. We know that a public option can work. Public plans like Medicare, TRICARE, and the VA all keep costs down and provide very high quality health care at prices much lower than private insurance plans. In a study conducted by the independent Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, private, for-profit Medicare plans cost the government an average of 14 percent more than traditional Medicare. As the health insurance reform debate continues in Congress, I will continue to support a strong public option as part of our efforts. For more information about the health care debate, please visit my website at Health Care Reform Online Resource Center. Thank you again for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to do so again if I can be of help to you or your family. Sincerely, Debbie Stabenow United States Senator
