Don't think it was any one date in particular but piece by piece, little by little. Like the frog in water that boils without noticing, we have lost our freedoms a little at a time. A careful study of what this country was 100-150 years ago compared to now would be a rude awakening.

Well, whatever ends up happening in D.C., I think it's safe to say that when all is said and done, it will continue to have America's worst gun laws. Expect the first self-defense case that sees the light of day to result in the lawful gun owner being thrown under the bus, while the actual criminal ends up walking. I would bet the rent on it.
