Exclamation Sent this to my congressman

This was sent to The President, Both my Senators and my Congressman as well as to the NRA. Please feel free to copy and paste as required when you write yours.

Representative Miller:

Sir;
Please DO NOT support H.R.6257. It contains language that would put it in direct conflict with the Second Amendment. The Context of this legislation is in fact hostile towards responsible firearms ownership. I served for twenty years in the USAF to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and it pains me to see anyone try to curtail the rights that others have given so much to protect.
Sincerely,

My name here

This bill is most likely dead. It dies at the end of this session of Congress and will have to be re-introduced in the new Congress. Oh, and Chris Shays (R-CT) lost his seat, replaced by a Dem.

JUST WHAT PART OF "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

I don't think any of the turn-coat republicans that sponsored this bill to begin with made it through the election; nearly everybody nationwide with a (R) next to their name got marked for retribution whether they deserved it or not; and blindly bought into the Obama Cult...

Does not matter, the one that gets to Obama's desk will be the most wide sweeping ban in U.S. history; all handguns, anything with a magazine... if they don't ratify the constitution first and eliminate the 2nd amendment all together...

Congratulations Comrade Obama

November 4th, 2008, the day the republic died...

United States of America 1776-2008 R.I.P.

Roughly 16% of the population of the former United States elected the most unqualified, anti-constitution, anti-second amendment, tax & spend, socialist, terrorist sympathizer candidate in history...

Congratulations comrades you drank the messiah's kool-aid...

It'll be ok. All we need to do is learn to say, "Thank you sir. May I please have more, sir?"

Wait...you can see why they'd want to ban finnicky .223 rifles that make fairly tiny holes and are mostly good for plinking, but a .308 that is easily capable of blasting right through a cop car, body armor, a cop, and still hit a bystander in one shot is perfectly fine? A "hunting rifle" isn't totally benign just because it has a full set of pretty wood furniture and looks like it might belong to Grandpa.

My take is that it probably will die and not be pushed again for a while. If they push it now every pro 2A organization will get behind a lawsuit to have it overturned and they can't take a chance that it would go before the SCOTUS. Until they get control of the SC it could cause a more definitive pro 2A definition that could once in all settle the 2A debate and put the Brady bunch alone with all the other anti-gun groups out of business.

Let me chime in. I think that with the country in the grip of a recession, social programs and entitlements will be at the top of the Democrats' agenda more than a new AWB or other restrictions on gun rights. This should give the NRA time to wage a vigorous campaign against any and all new gun control. In the meantime, I'm going to learn how to handload.

I have said my prediction is an EXPANDED AWB will be in place by the end of Obama's first year. Remember he has supported a complete ban of all "semi-automatic" weapons. If this passes only revolvers, pumps, and bolt action firearms would be permitted and this is only the first step.

I agree. I believe it is high on his agenda.
