Obama doesn't have to really concentrate any energy on gun control. It won't even take up any of his time. He just has to sign what congress sends his way. Since he has already voiced his support for renewing the assault weapon ban and getting rid of CCW, I suspect he won't mind signing legislation regarding either. The only reason the democrat controlled congress hasn't already passed the assault weapon ban is because they know Bush would veto it.

One would think. However, that might even be worse for gun control purposes, as his supporters would demand a ban as a response, and possibly some martial law. They wouldn't miss the opportunity.
