Default Armed citizens necessary?

Don't know if anyone has read these. What do you think? I think the historical connotations are coming back to haunt us.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it

ARMED CITIZENS, CITIZEN ARMIES: TOWARD A JURISPRUDENCE OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT

George Wilhelm Hegel:
What experience and history teach is this -- that people and governments never have learned anything from history, or acted on principles.

Adrienne Rich:
False history gets made all day, any day,
the truth of the new is never on the news

George Bernard Shaw:
We learn from history that we learn nothing from history

Every man and woman armed and ready to defend family, country, and constitution. Yes! Absolutely!
Brown Shirts, Storm Troopers organized by the government. No!
