| I plan to give a pistol as a gift to a friend and before anyone brings it up, this is NOT a "staw man" kind of deal..I looked in the AR statutes and the only thing I could find is that I can not transfer a weapon to a known felon. This person to whom I want to give this gift is not a felon and is a shooting buddy of mine. Does anyone else know of a law that I am not aware of that deals with the transfer of a gun between private citizens?

| Federal law requires that transfers between individuals of different states go through an FFL in the receiver's state. For individuals in the same state, only state law applies. If your state doesn't have any transfer requirements, just wrap it and give it to them.
