I don't get to the range as often as I wish I could. After a day of shooting though, I do a thorough cleaning of my carry pistol. But in between those range days, I have realized that a huge amount of lint and dust accumulates on my pistol. This should serve as a reminder to dust and oil every few days, so your weapon will be in pristine condition for the range, or God forbid, an encounter requiring intervention. My gun bench is the final resting place for many a toothbrush, along with a can of compressed air, some q-tips and even pipe cleaners. I just have to not let my wife know I am dusting, or I will be in real trouble. Be safe.
