Anybody who thinks the average citizen does not need a firearm or should not be able to own a firearm needs a dose of reality. A firearm is used over 1.5 million times a year to stop a crime or for self defense. Because of a firearm over 1.5 million bad thing do not happen to innocent people. If we could turn back time and take away the gun in the innocent persons hand during these crimes you would have hundreds of thousands raped, hurt or dead people.
Do you find that hard to believe? If you are a liberal you will. If your only source of news is the leftist media you will. If you think the world would be a better place without guns you will. We need to look no further then our nations capitol to see what gun control can do. Gun control empowers the bad guys and cripples the law abiding citizen.
Liberals honestly think that if all guns were vanished from this planet it would be a better world. How can anybody be so naive? Once again all we have to do is look at the drug problems we have in the USA. Drugs are illegal yet they are everywhere. In our schools and on the streets. Even though they are illegal they are still everywhere. Do you think guns would be any different. No, the bad guys will always have guns and you the law abiding citizen will not.
Every time we turn on the news we hear a about a drive by or someone shot yet we never hear about how a homeowner detained a robber or shot a rapist. Why is that? Because that would put guns in a light that the leftist media don't want.
Below are a list of links that I gathered in 20 minutes of searching. These links span a couple weeks. If I can find 11 cases of someone protecting themselves with a firearm in 20 minutes just imagine how many times a day someone actually does use a firearm for defense. How many local newspapers are there in the country? All these articles are local or small town newspapers. This is the stuff you never hear about on the news yet it happens every day many times a day.
If you read any of these articles and feel sorry for the bad guy then you truly are a liberal. Before you judge the rest of us imagine this being you or your family. Are you telling me you would not kill a bad guy to protect your family. If you say no then you are a coward.

Bad guys will kill you and not think twice about it. They rape, steel and kill. That's why there are called bad guys. Once they break in to your house or threaten your life with a weapon you have two choices. Protect yourself or take your chances and hope the bad guy does not kill you, beat the hell out of you or if you are a woman, even worse. Police can not stop all crime. Police investigate crime a lot more then they prevent crime. If you choose to be a victim then have at it.
Law abiding citizens have a right to carry a gun, we do it every day. We are everywhere. You walk by us everyday and you are none the wiser. We have been here for years and not one of us have gone on a shooting rampage. Their has never been blood in the streets because of us and through out the USA there are hundreds of thousands of us.
Most of us have extensive training in handgun handling. More then most police officers. Most of us shoot more ammo in a year than the average police officer will shoot in their career. We train with instructors that train local police officers and swat teams. We are always in the minds of the bad guys. They have no idea who we are and that keeps most of them in check. Are you living in denial? It was unthinkable that someone would fly an airplane in to a sky scraper before 911, is it unthinkable now?
Is it unthinkable to you that gun save lives also? I hope not because they really do.
I ask you this. If you find yourself thinking that guns are the root of all evil try this. Find a friend that owns a handgun. Ask them to take you out and let you shoot it. You will be amazed how much fun it is. Most anti gun people have never even fired a gun. I have not met a person yet that didn't lighten up on guns once they actually held one and fired one. They are not the evil you think they are and they can and just might save your life or the life of a loved one some day.

 |  Landor I hope you sent this to every politician you know, this is the best written defense for the Second Amendment and Canceled Carry I have ever read. If we could just get the Liberal to read your Blog and Second Amendment at the very least it should turn on a dim light. Amendment II. | |  Your assesment is correct, I live near San Antonio TX and there will be a shooting to, three or more times a week. The good guy that has a gun lives to tell the tale. Recently two guys tried a home invasion only to be meet by a gun. Both bad guys were dispatched(dead). The local news carried the stor; it and none of the hundreds like it will ever be on the main streem news. Like Rosey says the only people that should have guns are the body guards that her and liberals like her hier. |
