As I was driving from the VA Clinic in Pensacola today I saw what I thought might be a cool store... "The Old Footlocker"
UNTIL I THE SIGN IN THE FRONT WINDOW NEXT TO THE DOOR!
It was a black sign with orange letters that boldly proclaimed
NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED
and you guessed it...CIRCLE SLASH GUN
These people will not see a single dime of my money...EVER!
FESTUS
IN OMNIA PARATUS
What a shame. I just checked out their website. GREAT prices on "real deal" military surplus stuff.

I agree 100%. If they don't want my gun then they don't want me as a customer either.
That's why I refuse to patronize NASCAR and any promoters of NASCAR.
And I'm boycotting country music too because the CMA holds its music festivals at LP Field where fiorearms are prohibited.
Yep, if they don't want my weapon, then they don't want me.
I'll never ever watch NASCAR, buy NASCAR anything, buy anything that promotes NASCAR, listen to country music, or buy anything advertised on a country music station.
Principles are important.
I have to wonder how often places like this have been politely approached by gun-owners.
Sometimes it won't work. They're stuck on the idea that they won't allow guns period. But sometimes they're misinformed. Maybe they've been told erroneously by a cop or an insurance agent that they have to put the signs up. Maybe (like in Ohio), they don't know that they have no liability if they allow someone to carry.
If you speak to them, there's a chance they'll change their position. If you don't speak to them - POLITELY - you'll never know.
And in Tennessee, there's pretty much no place they could have a music festival that would allow concealed carry. What are they supposed to do?
Nogods, I think you should check on the country music because of the venue. I know in my state of Washington, my CCL does not cover events with more than 2500 in attendance. This includes pro athletic, concerts, shows etc. May have nothing to do with people sponsoring the event at all. But I do agree, when a store says no, I say no and put my money back in my pocket.
I walked into a store concealed..but it wad okay..the sign showed a red slash through a Beretta ...I was carrying a Kimber...haha
You know i can't stand NASCAR either, BUT... It may be a good idea to look more closely into the sports you do like. I have been to numerous NFL games and MLB games. And never once was i allowed to carry at any of these events. Was searched at almost every one of the games. And there was always a sign that said absolutely no weapons. As a matter of fact. I have also been to many rock concerts (a lot of times they are held at the sport stadiums) and always encountered the same thing.
Oh well. I guess i am never going to watch any sport ever again (my wife will love this) and never listen to the radio again. Man without music it will be a aweful ride home. Hope it doesn't cause me to be a road rager.
It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Exactly...which then leads to the point I wanted to make.
There is a big difference between "I won't go in that place because they won't allow me to carry my weapon for protection" versus "I won't go in there on principle because they don't allow firearms on their premises."
If you are going to follow a principle like that, then there is a whole lot of stuff you won't be doing anymore.
But if I don't go to the CMA festival because I don't want to be unprotected, then I can still watch on TV or listen on the radio from a place where I can be armed without being a hypocrite. And I can even choose to go to the CMA festival as long as I'm willing to go unprotected. There aren't arny principles involved that prevent me from making such choices.
