CCW for Colorado Student

I have my NV permit (resident) and Florida permit( non res). I'm moving to Colorado and was curious if they issue permits to non-res.

If you are going to live here in Colorado your permit has to be Colorado. If your residency is another state check the reciprocity agreement

Colorado does not issue permits to non-residents, and only recognizes resident permits of reciprocal states. For example, a Florida permit is only recognized if the permit holder is a resident of Florida.

In your case, blueheelenvet, because Nevada does not recognize a CO permit, CO does not recognize your Nevada resident permit.

Colorado doesn't issue non-resident CCWs or recognize them. You'll need to get your CO CCW which isn't that difficult if you want to continue carrying.

Grizz, in order to get my CO permit I have to become a res (verifying question). As a student I was under the impression that I could not become a resident. Any ideas?

Since you have a resident NV CCW it will be valid as long as your permanent residence remains in NV and you keep your NV DL (drivers license). If you decide to change your residency (DL, voter registration, etc.) to CO for duration of your education, your out of state CCWs will no longer be accepted in CO. The catch here in CO is that the law states once you take residence (live) and employment (full or part time) you're considered a legal resident and are required to obtain a CO DL or ID card and that of course would voide the validity of your out of state CCWs also.

I hope this helps. My suggestion is that if you're going to be here for more than a year just get your CO CCW.

See my other post. Perhaps I wasn't clear as I wasn't referencing reciprocity between CO and NV.. If he's going to remain a NV resident he should keep that CCW as it gives him reciprocity in more states, not including CO.
