Hey G50AE: Sorry if you misunderstood my post. Referring more to your comments on wardrobe and car alterations and thoughts on dealing with LEOs and your negative feelings about SC LEOs. Truly feel badly that you believe your situation to be so negative when it comes to any aspect of law enforcement that requires you to not only criticize SC LEOs but to ignore any benefit they could provide based on the degree to which you find it necessary to fully implement your defensive strategy with altered clothes, car, etc. Many on this forum also follow your due diligence but your comments seem to have a more negative nature to them. Wishing you well and hoping all of your planning is never needed.

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum/site - hailing from Covington, La.
I currently have my CWP and have been offered a 'new' job in San Francisco, CA. I did check the 'web' for reciprocity and it doesn't specifically state my permit will be honored in CA. It does state however, that 'they' i.e. the State of CA ,
"may issue a permit to residents".

I have intentions of becoming a resident, so I may be answering my own questions here, but wanted to know if any of you all had experienced this .... Do you all think that I'd have to go thru the course again? ...I would think a California 'fee' is all they're looking for....
Any thoughts?

I lived in California for 55 years, owned four businesses and transferred money personally on a daily basis, the majority of the time under adverse conditions. I have never been arrested, never had DUI, no traffic tickets. I could go on and on with every reasonable, logical, practical need to acquire a CCW, let alone meet every requirement that was required. NO CCW. I understand, however, that if you own a pawn shop, gun store, are a politician, or the brother in- law of the local police chief or sheriff, it is possible. A normal law abiding citizen resident, forget about it, ain't gonna happen.

I also don't see how mentioning that I now purchase sturdier belts now that I carry, is somehow hostile to SC LEO's. Just trying to help answer the OP's question.
