    They recently raised the cc fees in Ohio and I don't know who authorized this. Also, many sheriffs are requiring photos and fingerprints for renewals and these are not required by law.

    The Legislature authorized it in the last revision to the CCW law. To offset it, they lowered the fee for renewals because the background check only has to go back as far as when your last license was issued.

    I wish the People's Republic of South Carolina would do the same thing. Fifty dollars every four years is an absurdly high fee for what little they need to do for renewals.

    Same here in our commonwealth -- $50 for 3 years though...

    People complain : "Close the door -- it's cold outside".
    But when the door is shut, it is still cold outside.
