    Don't know about other states but in Texas being confronted by someone with a weapon and the fact that the distance is close if you felt threatened you would be within your right to draw your weapon. If they stop their aggression at that point and back away fine. If they come at you with the weapon than you could justifiably say you were in fear for your life and shoot.

    The other part that some did not mention was the phone bit - this is considered to be interfering with a 911 call in MN and is either either a GM or Felony depending on the sitution. That part carries the offense one step further.

    NM is only a misdemeanor but you're correct.
