I have and always will be an avid supporter of gun and self defense rights. I am an NRA member, a GOA member, a CCRKBA member, and a member of SAM,[Sportsman's Alliance of Maine]. I hold concealed carry licenses that presently allow me to carry in 30 states. I have written many letters to editors etc., on gun related issues. One question I have asked over and over, and have never received an answer to, or even an acknowledgment goes like this: Why is it that when a gun is used by a good person for a good reason, whether or not that person is a police officer,or an ordinary citizen coming to his or her or someone else's defense, and their action saves a life, or lives, or prevents a crime from being successfully committed, the PERSON gets the credit. But when a gun is used by a criminal to commit a crime, the GUN gets the blame? I would love to hear comments on this.

When your agenda includes disarming law-abiding citizens it's only logical to demonize the gun and not the person. They figure they have a chance to get the gun outlawed but even with today's crop of legislative lunatics there's practically no chance of people being made illegal.
When you think about it... it makes perfect sense.... from THEIR standpoint. If we're ever going to beat them we have to start thinking like them.

And by the way I have family in Maine. Travel there often. Gorgeous state! Sending off for my non-res Maine carry permit shortly. Welcome to the group. |
