Same in Maine. I love it when I drve across a town line and see a sign that says "town] has restrictive firearm ordinance." They, of course, don't tell you what the ordinance is. In Portland, it doesn't matter whether you have a permit or that open carry is legal. They will hassle you anyway.

Contact said Town and politely inform them that their ordinance is in direct violation of State Preemption Law.

Folks here in PA have had pretty good luck getting the towns to "see the error of their ways" this way.

Another effective way is to SUE THEM!!! Why let them get awa with hassling folks when they know darn well its illegal. That's a blatant misuse of legal force. Don't let them skate on that. If they are doing that, what else are they doing that is illegal? That's the way I'd look at it.
