I'm a law abiding citizen and this was my one slip up. Will this effect my ability to get a CCW permit in North Carolina?
I emailed my local sheriff's office but I figured I'd ask on here while I'm waiting to hear back from them. I just want to check on this before I shell out the money for the class and the permit application fees. I'd really appreciate any input.

I haven't heard back from the Sheriff but I talked to the instructor for the CCW class I'm going to take. He said it will not be a problem.
I can't see how that would be a problem, I've know several people with DUI's on their record and they qualified. So, in your case where you did your time in the class and your record was wiped clean...you should be clean and green.
Just FYI, in NC, a DUI within the past 3 years will disqualify you.
