Guess my question is: To defend yourself, which is what carry is all about, are you going to shoot the BG or just show him the finely engraved piece?

Show guns are fine - for show.

Although I do have a G20 OD with a Wolf 6" barrel that I usually just show - scares hell outta them and they faint.
