Default New Rail mounted Pistol Camera records encounters

I just came accross this new product it's a rail mounted Laser/Light combo that also has a tiny integrated diigital video recorder that starts recording as soon as your weapon is unholstered. It's a crazy idea, but it makes since, if god forbid you ever have to use your pistol, you will have a documented video indicating that you were justified in your actions, you can see the product here- Burris ShotCam Laser Sight Video Camera Light 300225 - eBay (item 400064408270 end time Jan-19-11 11:22:40 PST)

Not bad, it is a fairly good idea, and it would be nice if it were more available and a lot cheaper.

Yeah I agree but that one was way overpriced you can get them for a lot cheaper here's one- the current bid is $100.

This is a good Idea, but I would be curious on what road that option would take us down legally regarding required use with law mandates...

It would be another law that I would not like but have to follow. Just imagine that your battery dies 5 seconds after pulling your gun with a law saying that you have to have one of these on your gun you are screwed.

"Honey, did you turn on the alarm?" Yes Dear
"Honey, did you tuck in the kids?" Yes Dear

"Honey, did you plug in the gun?" DAMN, knew I forgot something............

There is no advantage to having a camera, it would be used against you.

Anything that you say, CAN and WILL be used against you in a court of law. That camera has the potential to do a lot of talking for you. I prefer that my attorney do all of the talking for me.

The big problem I see with this is it only records what happens after you pull the gun form your holster but nothing of what led up to you pulling your gun. This could really screw up the reality of what happened. Much like see the LEO cruiser videos of only part of the action. Can alter reality very much.
