National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Bill

With this new National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Bill if it passes it will allow anyone with a CCW to carry in all states who have CCW. So, basically if you are from PA you can carry in New Jersey because now with law New Jersey has to comply with reciprocity laws. How will this effect me who lives in New Jersey and cannot get a NJ permit but, have a FL and VA non resident? Can I carry in NJ or does it only apply to resident CCw holders. Thanks

As NJ law stands right now, yes you could carry in NJ with a FL/VA/PA permit.

If NJ changes it's law...simliar to what DE and KS have...where residents must have a home state permit...IE a DE resident must have a DE permit to carry in DE....then you'd have a problem.

Thanks mrjam2jab but, knowing New Jersey they already have a bill in place to stop anyone they can just in case it does pass. We all know how NJ feels about guns let alone letting law abiding citizens carry them.

‘‘§926D. Reciprocity for the carrying of certain con-

shipping, or receiving a firearm, and who is carrying a

(If passed) I wonder how this will affect places were you need a license not only to carry but to "have a gun".

I'm glad they specifically mentioned Puerto Rico... but they do require a licnese to have a gun there

using a Fla. permit to carry would not be allowed..jersey is firm that the 2A rights end at the front door....until nj removes the justifiable need requirement,,were screwed......
the judges,polys and the AG in nj are anti gun........I'd bet a million bux DC,NJ and NYC would fight for an exemption to the law before allowing ccw

So are the USAG and the POTUS as well as Feinstein, McCarthy and Schumer along with several more on a Federal level. I have my doubts....again that this will ever pass.

The passage of this bill would really be a miracle. I think that it would be just too. Just like that guy who got arrested in NJ for his legal firearms. Getting treated like a damned criminal.

I don't really know how that would play out though, especially given how varied local laws are currently. Gun laws are so mixed up that they don't even agree within states sometimes. For instance, in my county there is a law on the books that prohibits carry in county parks. One quick trip to the state laws and what do you know? state law preempts local laws on where it is acceptable to carry. Legislating cock wits want to make the laws, they don't want to know the laws.

I bet that if this national carry bill makes it to a vote the Democrats will be arguing for states rights and try to secede.
