Default Honest opinions please. Who here would use this product?

    http://www.dsmsafety.com/faqs.html

This came up in another thread, and I have not seen any mention of it from my forum lurking days.

I personally can't see myself as carrying or using it. It makes me think of the one my daughter has with her matching tiara.

But I would like to hear opinions if what other people think since this would be used post shooting versus the ever too much made fun of CCW badge.

I have seen that before and I thought it was a joke at first. I can't see deploying that on myself even if I could. It is against the law in New Mexico to identify yourself in any fashion except with the actual license itself (no CCW badges here) I think that banner would break that law in my state.

Obviously a former Miss America pageant winner helped design them. Seriously, why even mark yourself as a target during an active shooting engagement why not just make it a bulls-eye and save the opposition some trouble.

    Default Of two minds...

I'm of mixed opinion on this product.

Part of me wants to make (yet more) "CCW Badge" and "Sheepdog" jokes.

BUT...it seems to me that the intention is that this be deployed AFTER one has survived a self-defense shooting scenario, to identify yourself as the "good guy" when law enforcement response is imminent.

In that sense...it actually seems like a pretty decent idea.

But here is a better link - to the product page, not the FAQ page:

A CCW sash? Not in this lifetime! The whole point of concealed carry is NOT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO ONE'S SELF!!! If one wants to advertise the fact that they are carrying, open carry.

Default Mostly for people who think they are cops

I do see your point on putting it on after an incident, but I think it is very impracticable. Also the cops will not give it much credence since anyone can buy one.

I think it would cause a lot of problems with the police accusing you of impersonating an officer.

not a good idea to me .. attracts too much unwanted attention IMHO! ..
a badge is not going to make a difference to the LEO's .. you will put your weapon down and assume the position anyway until they feel safe ..

All right - from these responses, I'm going to play devil's advocate using "reply with quote."

Obviously you don't WALK AROUND with it proudly displayed. It's for after you've shot someone in self-defense and the cops are on the way.

How would you be accused of impersonating an officer, since the letters CCW are clearly displayed in 3M reflective letters?
