Longslide10 - I've been thinking about the Double Tap for both .40 S&W and .45 ACP, mostly for the ft/lbs and low flash. I know you use these in your extra mags, but are you satisfied enough to trust them with your life as primary self-defense? BTW, we're both from PA and I think I may have seen you on the PA FOA site as well. I would appreciate your input about Double Tap ammo. Thanks in advance.[/QUOTE]
I would most definitely trust them with my life. I haven't yet had a failure to feed or failure to fire out of the 100 or so rounds fired and I know that's not many but with an income less than zero I don't want to waste ammo unnecessarily. I had purchased 600 rounds for my 10 and 45 when times were better so I am not doing much shooting lately. I find DT ammo to be just as accurate if not more so than mass produced commercial ammo due to the increased pressures and attn to quality. I find most 10mm comm ammo to be far too tame and not much better than 40 short and weak and was glad to find DT ammo. Mike McNett, the owner of DT has a wide variety of loads for many calibers and is the first I go to now. I would not hesitate to recommend DT to you or anyone. Here is a youtube video on DT ammo.
