Cities and towns can make restrictions...but CHL holders are exempt from them.
I wish I could have carried in college. Speaking of which, Im sure others are saying that after another Virginia Tech shooting today.
Why do I carry a gun? Because a cop is too heavy.

I took over this thread? It probably would have ended a long time ago if you would have had something pertinent and constructive to say TO ANSWER THE OP'S QUESTION other than your negativity. I am often amazed in life how someone can do something wrong or not necessary and have the talent to turn it around and make you seem like it is you. Very impressive. Listen, let's end it with this. When you come to NY if it is close enough for us both, let's grab a bite and meet. We are both carriers trying to keep ourselves and families safe to enjoy life and prosper. We are probably more alike than this thread would lead to believe. There is enough bad in the world that makes me realize that this back and forth is just plain silly. We can agree to disagree. We have that luxury. I apologize if I have offended you.

I apologize if I have offended you as well. Sounds like a good plan buddy.

Yeah...about our only restrictions that apply to a CHL holder are federal buildings, secure areas in airports, police stations (I've never figured that one out), jury rooms and courtrooms unless the judge OKs it.

Our biggest negative is that we don't accept licenses from any other state and the only ones that accept ours are the states that accept all licenses...fortunately for me, I am covered in other states by LEOSA.

With the LEOSA, can you carry in Chicago and New York City?

Under the law you may. But NYC will arrest you anyway. They will require you provide federal law (HR218) as an affirmative defense.

Update : FEB 2012 received my permit. A total of 7 months from start to finish. (Could have received earlier but there was a delay because of the Holidays). Its worth the wait, at the end I am grateful and happy that I have a legal handgun and able to carry. No Problem following the procedures and laws. I LOVE NY.
