Default 280- armed robbers, only 40 made the cops shoot.

NYPD's 1968 Stakeout Unit, during the black riots of that era, almost all stakeouts were in liquor stores, all were in Harlem, and nearly all of the miscreants were black. Despite the fact that it was black store owners and clerks who were being robbed, the NAACP made the cops stop this very effective unit.

Even tho they were caught in the act, given no place to flee, and were facing life imprisonment ina BAD prison (Sing Sing), they chose to surrender rather than be shot down. Almost all were dopers and multiply convicted violent offenders, too. Many who DID get shot WOULD have surrendered had they realized what they were really facing. But they turned to the cops, gun in hand, in surprise at the "POLICE" yell, and got shot down BEFORE they could surrender! ;-)

By contrast, if a civiilian leaves the attacker a way out, over 90% will take it, saving you the $50,000 you will otherwise need to spend in order to stay out of prison and not be sued out of every dime you ever make! So the main thrust of your training is to get the gun out and "lined up" on the punk, SUPER FAST, and only after you can do that, worry about hitting anything.

If I choose to engage a target it is to shoot them. The moment it becomes clear that the gun should leave the leather it means that a series of events have been placed in motion before that which were out of my control and I am attempting to return them to my control to secure the situation. If everyone draws and nobody shoots the situation doesn't resolve itself and in some states now everyone involved is now in violation of the law. Some states don't allow for a person to brandish a gun without shooting because the theory being that if situation required a gun to drawn then the situation dictates that somebody get shot to stop an immediate danger. As for the cost of a defense, that is what insurance is for.

    Gun's are not to intimidate.

If you pull you should have already made the decision to use it.

Ya know I have found when people give percentages. About, 85% of all statistics are B.S. and made up as they type or spoken!

Tell that to Axeanda45 or whatever. I tried explaining that guns are not for intimidating or brandishing and they still dont understand. And its obviously 86.5%, not 85.

Given that level of "no confidence", one MUST assume (with strong probability) that YOUR "statistic" is BS too. The logic is inescapable.
