I really like my Kahr CM9 with crimson trace laser in my pancake style Multi-Holster brand holster. Very good, light weight combo.

Rich S gives the best advice. Try BEFORE you buy. anyone i have ever met, while shooting were happy to let you try out their 'toy'. Go to the range, rent if you can or borrow. You can NEVER have too many guns but you gotta carry one to matter.

    Mine? Glock 23 & Sig 226

Dont buy a gun. Buy GUNS. Plural.

Here is the minimum battle load for concealed carry.

Strong side hip.... RUGER SUPER REDHAWK CHAMBERED IN .480 RUGER with a 3-9X50 scope.

Weak side hip... 500 Smith and Wesson.

    Strong side ankle...Colt Combat Commander.

    Weak side ankle...Colt Python.

CARRY SIX SPEEDLOADERS PER REVOLVER. Carry ten mags for the .45.

Carry extra ammo in fanny backs and your photog vest. 500 rounds minimum for each handgun.

Polymer guns are known as "Tupperware" guns. Glock, Springfield XD, etc.
From what I recall "tupperware" was originally specific to glocks. It didn't have to do with the material they were made of, but that when purchased new they came in a container that looked like tupperware. It was "Tactical Tupperware", either when carrying your gun or your sandwich.

It may have morphed over time, but originally it was just glocks.

I can see the truth in this- when I bought my first glock 26 in the late 90s it came in one of those crappy boxes. I was just telling my buddy after buying another this past Saturday, that I am happy that glock has started selling their pistols with a foam lined hardcase that you can actually transport your pistol in.

    Thanks for the explanation!

    Default Choosen!

I went with the Kahr PM9. I know the CM is so similar and cheaper, but I liked the extra details. At the range, the first round would fail to load due to being at the wrong angle, sticking at the front, due to a poor clip design. Slide back - clip inserted - slide released - no problems. However, this is not the situation you want to be in during life and death matters. Solution, have the first round chambered while carrying. I found it to be very accurate at about 8 yards, I'm very pleased with how it shoots, it's size, weight, etc. just need to carry with one in the chamber. Maybe shooting 200+ rounds, like the manufacturer states, will break it in. Hoping.
Still shopping for the perfect iwb holster. Thanks all for the help. Appreciated!

I carry a Taurus PT145 .45 ACP 10+1 (also available in 9mm and .40) in a Crossbreed IWB holster. the gun has been very reliable and Taurus replaced the frame, trigger and firing pin for free. My gun is a first generation model and the frame issue is well known. The trigger and pin were working but they upgraded the parts as a curtoisy (sp). The pistol can also be had in a single stack version which is thinner than my couble stack model. I carry this rig everyday. The crossbreed holster is a leather and kydex hybrid. the leather side is against your body and is very comfortable. The kydex "pocket" holds the Taurus very secure. the PT145 Millenium / Millenium Pro retails here in Virginia for about $400 bucks.

Honestly, I would find a gun that you shoot well and easily and not worry about concealing it. You really CAN dress around the gun.

I agree with the good advice you've already gotten about carrying what you're comfortable with.

That said, I'm 5'9", never mind how much I weigh, :D and I carry a Sig 1911 RCS. IWB, if it matters.
