The mall doesn't set the policy for individual stores. I've seen only one "no-guns" sign in NYS... at the entrance to HSBC bank.

And I sincerely admire your good intentions. In my 60+ years, I have found that I might be able to change the mind of a small business owner, but when you go up against "corporate America", you were on the right track. As the saying goes, "You can't fix stupid". It never ceases to amaze me how people think a sign will keep criminals from disobeying it. I was told by one bank executive that they did not want a citizen shooting at a BG while he was robbing their bank. He feared an innocent might get killed. While this is a possibility, I then asked him how he felt about the robber shooting every bank employee after he got his money. He didn't have much of an answer for that one.
I have opinions about this subject. I rarely go to towne east or towne west, but this holiday season, I was dragged into both. First off, their signage placement according to the attorney general is improper and therefore legally can be ignored. Second, I have been told by others that alot of places actually put their signs up improperly to "fool" the average citizen into thinking it is a gun free zone. Hopefully, by contacting the security at the mall you didn't make an issue of it and screw it up for everybody that does carry in there by prompting them to "fix" it.
Interesting to see that our local shopping center has made the USA CARRY news. I noted some time ago that Dillards was not posted, so of course that is the store I shop in. My understanding is that Dillards is based in Texas, which may explain why it is not posted.
