Default a question that someone could possibly answer for me

Ok just say that I got arrested for something that could possibly be a misdemeanor but when I finally went to court the charges were dropped. Am I still able 2 get my ccw in Mississippi?

You're in a shall issue state and you weren't convicted of a crime so I don't see how it could be a problem.

Yes you should still be able to get your permit unless possibly if it was a violent crime? It will still show up on your record even if the charges were dropped.

It was a simple assault charge that someone had pressed charges but the court threw the charges out and I had to pay 100 drop fee and that was the end of it. Mayb should I call the dps and ask?

I would just apply. You have a high chance of getting false info. There's only 1 way to know for sure

Just applying may end up with trouble you don't need. I have seen some forms asked whether you were ever arrested for a violent crime and not were you ever convicted with a violent crime.

You should ask the DPS first before you apply or at least look at the forms first, before you have to fill them out.

    I disagree with asking DPS.

I agree with looking the forms over first.
Some states ask "Have you ever been convicted of...?"
Other states ask "Have you ever been on trial for...?"
Still others ask "Have you ever been charged with...?"
Yet others ask, "Have you ever been arrested for...?"

This is an important distinction. If you're not sure - I'd consult an attorney in your area specializing in firearms law.
