Currently doing a 3 o'clock carry with holster over one belt loop. I avoid between belt loops when carrying my J-frame with an OWB holster. Holster I use tends to creep. Belt loop keeps it in place.
On a separate note, I picked up a leather and kydex belt a few weeks ago, and I have to say I'm amazed how much better this belt is over a regular leather belt!

Isn't the 5 o'clock position a bit far back?
I said 5 O'clock but in hindsight it Is probably closer to 4

I buy my pants unfinished(long legs, to facilitate cuffs/no cuffs and length I like)I use the extra material to make extra belt loops. I take the gun, holster to the tailor with me when I buy and they add extra belt loops for me. (Men's Wearhouse) I'm a portly gent and I find extra belt loops add to stability of both pants and gun.

Elmer Keith proved that behind the back was just as fast if not faster than cross draw. Course he wasn't talking about concealed carry.
I don't care for IWB holsters, so I use the "pancake" style, with the snap loops. I position one loop behind the belt loop and the other in front. It keeps the holster from moving around and still keeps my pants where they should be (at my waist, not down around by butt like some of the local youts like to wear theirs...
