    Default New Jersey Dilemma

I live in Virginia and my 83 year old mother lives in NJ. I vist my mother about 4 times a year.

I have a CCW in Virginia, but want to try to obtain a non-resident CCW fron NJ. NJ requires a statement from me as to why I have a need to carry a firearm in the State of New Jersey before it will issue a permit. I really don't have a specific reason except that I always carry. My mother lives in a building with an underground garage, but I don't think tht that limited circumstance will be sufficient.

Do you have any suggested language that I could use to support my app in NJ that might be enough to get by the app reviewers?

    Thank you!

Can you document a pattern of robbery or violent crime near your mother's neighborhood? Do you frequently move valuable things such as cash, antiques, or other items that would make you a target?

Even if so...snowball's chance in hell that Jersey will issue for you.

Thankfully, no. Two replies and I'm already seeing a pattern here--"forget about it!" Never did like New Jersey.

Best advice is to get your mother out of New Jersikstan and into Virginia as fast as you can.

Last time I checked there were only about 1500 active permits in NJ out of a population of almost 9 million. Don't count on it.

I live in the Republic of NJ, to be completely honest you can forget it! "Justifiable need" is the clause in our law which 95% of NJ applicants are DENIED. If your not Active or retired LE,Armored car personal or in Corrections you will be denied! If denied in NJ, any other state you apply in you will also be DENIED for 5yrs including when you apply for renewal in VA. Dont even waste ur time, if you were somehow to even get the police chief to sign off on it you still have to get a Superior Court Judge to sign off as well to validate it. The Republic of New Jersey is a "Police State" not a "Free State". As previously stated, with a population of over a couple million there is less that 1500 CWP's issued, but we have over a million hunters & FID card holders...go figure?
