I am very pleased to see that I'm not the only person who did not renew when my subscription ran out.
I was very disappointed when Tim made the insurance mandatory, plus his prices kept getting higher.
With forums like this one, I no longer need USCCA for anything and I'm happy I quit!

Personally, I like it. I enjoy the magazine and for me the insurance has value. I understand that for some the price might be an issue, however I don't understand all the negative feelings on the insurance. Almost every single poster on this site will advise all aspects of preparation. They will continually advise to get professional training and to practice often. For me, the insurance is part of being prepared. If I ever need to protect myself, the last thing I will want to worry about is getting sued. Any hesitation could be fatal and the insurance gives me one less thing to hesitate over. As for the marketing, I don't consider it to be any more annoying than the NRA fund drive letters I always get. If I like or have extra cash I get or donate. If not I don't.

I let my USCCA membership expire because of the insurance also. They have great info and materials and the magazine is fantastic but I have a problem with all of the sales pitches. Also, I always wondered how a guy from a non CCW state (until recently) was talking about how he CCWs and gives advice to others about it. Seemed fishy. Great magazine and content, though. Just don't need to pay what they ask and don't need another insurance salesman after me.

You'll like it here, as long as you deal with being called a troll every time you disagree with someone and being called a fascist if you insinuate any cooperation with any LEO. Grow thick skin and you'll be OK. There is a ton of knowledge and some great folks here.

I got so tired of the everyday advertisements that I sent it all to the junk folder.

I used to belong but they cut out adds from their magazine on the excuse that they wanted their reviews to be completely influence free. Then raised the membership rates to try & make up 4 it. Then said he wasn't trying 2 get rich but wanted a quality magazine. NRA does reviews as well as takes advertising. I pointed that out but they said they couldn't take an add & then give a bad review in a product they advertise.

I have respect 4 Tim but it cost 2 much for what you get. This forum is just as good as you get with USCCA & its free.

So you are "pleased" that others did not renew. that seems very odd. It wasn't a product for you and you stopped your membership. I have no problem with that. The fact that you are "pleased" others have done the same is bizzare. the USCCA has generated a unique product that is pro gun. If it goes Bankrupt will you be "overjoyed." If his unique insurance can't be supported and ultimately fails and is dropped will that "excite" you. Good thing we have this little clique here at USACARRY. Good thing this site has a better FORUM, that's what matters.
For the record this stupidity is not pleasant. Liberal anti-gun agenda's advance with every moment we waste dissing each other instead of going after real issues, like the liberal anti-gun agenda. The real issue is not what business strategies our friends in the pro-gun movement use . Boy am I glad I had this FREE forum to post my reply, unlike that "other" forum that costs money, has insurance and a mag. I sure hope NRA doesn't start promoting a membership only forum included in their membership we might have to mock them too and be pleased when others dislike the direction that company heads.
Now on a serious note, I do like this forum and USACARRY but I will fight against this unpleasant line of illogical reasoning. Have a pleasant evening.

You sound a lot like "Tim".

I don't think you understood what he was saying. I didn't take it that he wanted Tim to go under and all to leave, just that he was relieved he wasn't the only one who felt that way. He probably thought he was the only one who felt that way until this thread popped up.

The USCCA isn't for everyone, and it doesn't diminish the 2A if we don't join it.

I can only reply to the word choices he used. He can reply or revise but for now he remains "pleased" that he quit, pleased that others have done so and proud enough to tell everyone.

"The USCCA isn't for everyone, and it doesn't diminish the 2A if we don't join it."

I completely agree. I basically said the first part myself but I never advocated that everyone had to join every pro-gun group to support 2A. I said, these silly squabbles diminish 2A. In a perfect world we would basically all be united under a pro gun group instead of having factions. The church has weakened itself and its effectiveness in the world with its various denominations and factions.
