Many states do, in fact, require you to obtain a carry permit from your state of residence. So if you are a resident of Missouri, the law may require you to obtain a Missouri permit. This is exactly the way it works in Kansas. Kansas will recognize many non-resident permits as long as you are not a Kansas resident. Once you become a resident in Kansas, you must obtain a Kansas permit. You may want to contact the Missouri Attorney General to clarify this point.
