What's your favorite carry weapon ... And why ???

All the possible choices of gun for concealed carry are necessarily a compromise of many factors of varying importance to each individual.

The minimum caliber I am satisfied with for defensive purposes is 9mm. The two most important criteria to me for a concealed carry gun are thickness and weight. After trying about everything in the gun store, I have settled on the Kahr P9 for daily carry. The P9 is thin, lightweight, accurate and dependable.

For me, I guess it comes down to the intersection between the least gun I am willing to accept for the purpose and the most gun I am willing to carry regularly.

My Ruger SR1911, well its my only carry weapon and now I'll always carry a .45. I've heard so many people say that a full sized 1911 is too big to carry.. well I am 5'10" and about 155pounds and I have NO problem concealing it under a t shirt or even a tank top as long as its not wicked tight. I use a Galco KingTuk IWB holster and its so comfortable that I have to keep telling myself that I'm carrying because if I don't I might forget its there. Nothing says stop like the business end of a .45

Carry a Ruger KLCR .357/.38. It has everything one needs, great concealability either IWB or OWB-with untucked shirt, (can use Remora Tuckable IWB, or Mitch Rosen Pancake Belt Slide OWB), max "stopping power" in .357Mag., lightweight but recoil manageable (Hogue Tamer Grips), reliable (Ruger Revolver), and has a "sweet" DAO trigger. S&W M&P 40c because I shoot it well. Sometimes my Ruger LC9 because its smaller but I dont shoot quite as well with it. Actually, i'm thinking of selling the LC9

LCR for me as well, but I opted for the .38, only now wish I had spent the extra $40 for the KLCR just because. Oh well, what's done is done. I like the feel and weight of the gun as well as the small size of the gun. It's what works for me. My second choice would be the LCP.
