I am going from Mississippi to Disney world this summer. Alabama and Florida honor my carry permit. Is there anything special I need to do before the trip.
You can't carry in the park.

Thanks KK. I read about that on their web site. Really wondering about the trip over there.
Nice fish. What boat were you on? USS Bremerton 89-95 here.
Walt Disney World (as with all Disney properties,) prohibits the carry of "weapons of any kind".
To my understanding (I am not a lawyer, consult a lawyer, etc, etc,) Florida law is such that you must be told in person that weapons are not permitted to carry weight of law. I have seen anecdotes of people being found out by Disney Security, and being banned from the parks for life; and others of people being found out and being escorted to the parking lot to put their weapon in their car then allowed back in.
Obviously, in either case, if you are found out, are ordered to leave, and don't leave, you are trespassing, and *THAT* is a problem when armed...
Personally, I am a believer in "if they don't want me to carry, I need to decide if giving them money is worth not carrying." They say no, I either don't carry or I don't do business with them.
I'm going next week. From what I have found from other forums, Disney officially doesn't allow firearms. It seems there are PLENTY of plain-closed law enforcement in the park. There are in-room safes if you stay at one of the resorts. From what I have read, just lock it in the room during your stay. No need to carry in the parks.
Like I said, that's just what I have read that others suggest. I'm driving from North Alabama. I just plan on carrying and locking mine in the room safe for the duration of our trip. If anyone else knows better or has any other suggestions, I'd like to know too.
SSN637-Sturgeon, SSN646-Grayling and SSN686-L.Mendel Rivers. All Fast Boats in the 80's.

Even off duty cops can not carry at Disney...
From what I've gathered through searches and reading is that Disney obviously does not officially allow carry in the park. I have seen that some people have gone in armed but there is a very strong chance that if you are caught armed you will be banned from the park. They do not wand you or do pat downs, only perform a light check of bags coming in. It's not worth that risk for me since I know I'm much more protected in the park than any average location. I go with my wife and 2 kids just about every year but this year will be my first trip armed. My wife doesn't have an issue with me carrying a weapon but if I got us banned from Disney she literally would never forgive me. Our annual vacation is the 1 week a year she can totally relax and forget about everything that goes on day to day.
Supposedly you are never more than 25' away from undercover security in the park. Disney takes the safety of its guests pretty seriously.
My plan is to use the in room safe to secure my pistol while I'm in the park and carry any time I go off property.
Why would you need to carry at Disney? It's the happiest place on earth......
Maybe they are afraid of people having a gun once you realize it's $8 for a bottle of water and there are no water fountains......
