How do you travel with your gun!

I'm planning a trip in May to New Orleans by train.How do I ship my gun or should I check it with my luggage?If I check it do I have to declair it? I'm new to the site thanks for all input!!

What train are you going to be riding on? I'd check their regulations first.

Amtrak says no guns! So can I ship it?

Yes, you may ship your gun to yourself c/o another person. If it is a handgun, it must go by Fedex or UPS. If it is a long gun you may mail it via USPS.

Thanks for you input.I did quite abit of research yesterday and Fedx Overnight is my best bet.

If you can afford to fly, just declare them like I do when I travel.
