I'm new here so I appreciate any help you may provide.

I applied for a hand gun carry permit in in December 2008. Went to the local police, was finger printed, all the paper work in order, Money order included and have seen or heard nothing since. Is this normal? Who should I contact?

I applied for my permit last June, hadn't heard anything by the beginning of September, so I called the state police headquarters in Indianapolis, they did some digging, found that my application had apparently been misplaced--not sure where it ended up--but I got my permit in the mail about a week later. Did you mail your application yourself or did you have your local police department or sheriff's office mail it for you?
