Flashlight Brite Strike Technologies

I just picked up a light from Brite Strike Technologies yesterday BRITE-STRIKE POLICE & MILITARY TACTICAL LED FLASHLIGHTS : SELF DEFENSE PRODUCTS based here in Kingston, MA. Very nice light with 210 lumens, high / Low output, strobe, jagged bezel front and rear, came with a a belt pouch and lifetime warranty, ran me $170. Funny thing...after I purchased the light, (Model BD-198-HLS 2C), The store owner was telling me how the company was relatively new and started by two police officers, etc and I was paging through the catalog and noticed that I actually know one of the LEO's, who is President of the company, from a few years back! I haven't seen him and his wife in about 6 or 7 years, since we last had a glass of vino, but I'm planning on calling them today to say hello!

Be sure to check this company out. They make an assortment of tremendous lights, batons and the camera light for LEO's is pretty cool.

A couple of things..
1) I as looking at a flashlight yesterday that had what you describe as "jagged bezel front and rear".. Why is this done?? So you can whack someone with it if necessary??
2) Now that you know you know the president, don't you think you could have received a discount from him directly (and maybe for some of your close friends as well!!!)

It retails for $200 and I think I got a decent deal at $170. I didn't realize I knew the pres of the company until after I had already purchased the light...but sure...I'll inquire about a discount the next time I purchase a light for my wife and 18 yr old step daughter.

The bezel is for striking an attacker and useful in a self defense situation. Check out the videos on their website.

I was looking at the E1B Backup from Surefire, but after reading on the site and watching the videos I'd rather send my money their way. Looks like they have a nice line of products. I like the BD-198-HLS-2C model.

I got it at Urban Armor in Buzzards Bay. One subtle difference between the Surfire and Brite Stike line, but a big difference maker....the positioning of the clip and how it holds the light facing down in your pocket.....making it more readily available in that split second, without having to turn the light around and deploy. There obviously, many other differences, but this light just feels much more solid and much more ergonomic. It's wicked bright too and looks like a flood light when it's on the max output mode. I was walking the dog the other night and turned it on briefly, shined it into the woods, and I was like WHOA!!! I'm very happy with my purchase!

Very cool. I love a good working flashlight. I bought a Streamlight Polytac last year and have been pleased with it so far. 120 lumens, small and light, polycarbonate housing. $40.00 short money. No clip on the Polytac though. I'll have to get my hands of one of these.

Ordered my Bright-Strike today. Looks like a really good light, well designed, bright and I like the defensive features built into it, I think it will make a good carry item, especially for the gun free zones.

Now it is just waiting for it to arrive. I ordered the BD-198-HLS-2C for $149.00 including (slow) shipping from Amazon.

Well, I have to say their catalog and products are quite impressive. I have a SureFire 'Back-Up' that I like 'sorta' but admittedly, it falls short in a couple of areas. It's too slippery to hold securely, and the two-position clip is useless in the face-up orientation. Oh well, live and learn...

Forgot to repost on this thread. Got my Brite-strike about a week and a half ago and have been carrying it daily since. Great size, good grip, nice and bright, I have no complaints at all. It is solid and strong and I know darn well I do not want to be on the receiving side of a strike.
