Well, not sure..this is my first firearm and I'm looking for some real-world input on what to look for (and what to avoid). I'll probably end up with a few different styles and see what I like best.
I haven't seen much in the availability for the SR40 (newness?)...a lot for the SR9 though. Are they close enough in size as to be interchangeable as far as the holster goes?
The SR40 is still really new and as such not many companies have anything on the market for it. As far as I know the Sr40 is just a little bigger then the SR9. You should be able to get away with using a SR9 holster for the SR40.

I have an SR40, they "are" slightly bigger than the SR9. Most holsters for SR9 are "tight" for the SR40.
Manufacturers will catch up soon.
I've heard that the SR9 versions "will work"...guess I'm not too hot on that concept...may find a lesser expensive "universal" alternative until there's something "right" on the market.

I have the sr40 and i have been looking for one too, i bought a blackhawk iwb holster for $16 at Bass Pro in des moines for the sr9. It fits good sits all the way in. What i have been told is the slide is slightly wider.
Planning on stopping by there in a few weeks after the gunshow..thanks for the headsup.

i live in warren county norwalk to be exact just a little suburb of des moines,originally from southeast iowa though.
