The cops are still trying to figure out who the second guy is, so kinda trashes your whole surveilance camera idea, huh? The only crook they identified was the one laying chalk!
Im not endorsing vigilantyism, but you all drawing some pretty strong conclusions without knowing much of the story.
Good guy living, bad guy dead.
    Here's what I do know:

The manager exited the building after the robbers had left. This caused the need for him to fire at one of the robbers. If he had stayed inside and called 911 as he should have he never would have had to fire. This makes the shoot illegal and puts him on the hook because his life was not in danger until he escalated the situation by chasing armed robbers. How is it a good idea to chase two armed men alone and cause a gun fight in public? Can you even possibly begin to understand what could have gone wrong there? The kid's damn lucky he's alive and no bystanders were hurt. Obviously his exiting the building didn't help ID the seocond man either.

I am really confused. I thought the "safe" protocol was to give the armed robbers what they wanted and allow them to leave without starting a shootout. What is all this business now about "good shoot?"

Source: Denny's "no guns allowed" signs seem to be working.

    Rich,
You are a great example of what is wrong with society. You haven't made one comment stating satisfaction at the end result of this event. I think you will be truly disappointed if this kid doesn't end up in prison! Why?
We still don't know jack about what happened. You assume he "chased" the robbers out into the lot. All the article says is that he followed the robbers out to the lot. How long after they left the restaurant? 10 seconds? 5 minutes? We also don't know when or if he called 911. But of course you just naturally figure he didnt.
It is so easy for you to sit behind your computer screen and pass judgement. You must think that because hes managing a wendys he can't know anything about how to handle a weapon, or defend himself and loved ones.
This story could of ended a million different ways. But it ended with the good guy having the chance to defend himself either in court, or against self-righteous armchair quarterbacks like you.

So you think it's a good idea for someone to go out alone and chase down 2 thugs after the threat is over and start a gun battle in public? What kind of training have you had that taught you to do that? Can you post links to it? I'd like to see them.

Good guy won one, OK, but heading out the door after the event into an unknown number of possible armed BG's is stupid, protecting yourself and family in store is no problem with me, he will most likely be fired from the store.

Actually he won't be fired but the DA is looking at it. I'm happy the good guy won the fight and there are two thugs off the street but IMO this kid's actions were asinine.
