Win? It seems like the worker followed the BGs outside after they robbed the place and then shot one of them. Don't be surprised if this doesn't end well for him.

I don't know. My story would be: Well, I went outside to see if I could get a plate number and then the guy pointed a gun at me.

I don't see this as being much of a problem except for maybe getting fired from Dave's Fine Food establishment! :)

Where does the law say you must stay inside after a robbery?

The victim is clearly covered under the "Castle Doctrine" law.

''When the worker walked outside with his own weapon, police say one of the men pointed a weapon at him and he was shot and killed.''

He seems to be covered to me.

Castle doctrine states that an employee can run out of a business with a weapon and chase a fleeing robber? I'd like to see that. Let's say he's fine legally. Is it a good idea for a worker to run outside and chase armed robbers? I don't think so. There's so much that could go wrong there that it's not worth the risk in my estimation.

Hey Big: Dead wrong on Castle Doctrine. You are not in any imminent danger at this time. You cannot follow a BG after the fact and shoot him UNLESS he is putting you in imminent danger by pointing a firearm at you in front of witnesses or unless you are the only witness and the BG is dead and did have a firearm that was pointed at you (wink and nod). In SC, however, there is a law on the books (when, how, why do not know) that AT NIGHT you can effect a citizen's arrest on the BG and you can use deadly force to stop him from evading the citizen's arrest---in other words, if he tries to run away (this is only at night), you can shoot him in the back. It is clearly written and has been upheld in case law.

This happened in the FREE state of Georgia, not socialist Massachusetts. Good shoot.

We'll see. I doubt that you can chase after a fleeing robber like that and be good to go when your life was clearly no longer in danger. Hopefully we can get a follow up. Again- even if that was a good shoot would you think it's a good idea? Would you train students to act in that manner? What's that you say in your signature????
