| Its about time... CPD gets new deadly force policy - 7/29/09 - Chicago News - abc7chicago.com July 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- After this weekend, Chicago police are allowed to shoot at drivers or passengers fleeing the scene in cars in felony cases. Roderick Drew, spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, told ABC7 the new deadly force policy was put in place by Police Supt. Jody Weis and will go into effect this weekend. No details have been released and the Fraternal Order of Police told ABC7 it is also gathering information on the policy. Supports of the policy say it will help protect officers; critics say it gives cops too much power. Discuss. Oh also... last night... 15 shot in overnight incidents - 7/29/09 - Chicago News - abc7chicago.com July 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A total of 15 people were shot in Chicago on the city's South and West sides late Tuesday and early Wednesday. |

| It's a good thing law-abiding citizens can't carry or use guns to defend themselves in that city... that's working well.

| So, cops are allowed to shoot people who no longer pose an imminent threat to them... but YOU can't own a gun do defend yourself against someone who does. Gotta love Chicago. As Dr. Phil would say, "How's that working for you?"
