Brian Aitken released from New Jersey Prison

This man was rammed through the judicial system in New Jersey for having three unloaded and locked legally obtained handguns in his car. He had transported them from Colorado back to his home state of New Jersey. To make a long story short, his car was searched without his permission and he was thrown to the wolves. Governor Chris Christie recently commuted his sentence after a two year struggle.

Sounds like there stringent gun laws and not listening to this man plead his case has opened a can of worms for NJ.

Actually the main issue was that he was tried by a bad judge. Yes this was a gun case. And yes the gun laws in NJ are horrible. But they main issue this case shows is the need to get rid of bad judges.

There already IS! It is in the supposedly sacrosanct listing of citizen's rights. Right along with the formulating document that is supposed to be the basis of our our Law AND the justification for the Government to govern.

The Bill of Rights was part and parcel of the citizens' ALLOWING that central government to establish itself.

ANY attempt of the central authorities to circumvent, nullify or twist the Bill of Rights to the detriment of the People (i.e. The authorizers of the Government) should be treated as nullification of the Government's "right" to Govern. PERIOD!

the lawmakers in nj only believe the 2a applies to citizens in the home behind closed doors.....they also believe scotus didnt define to keep n bear in a way that nj should feel compelled to change any gun law in place ...the attorney general stated that nj has carefully crafted the gun laws so the constitution has no influence or bearing on matters of a citizens 2a right outside the home...the AG also states they do issue ccw's, but you must have a justifiable need for it....the ccw law in place does not define what that is and or leaves the decision to issue, open to opinion of a county judge, and its always their opinion you dont need it....so they dont issue ccw's...

A repeal of the exemption for judicial officers in 42 USC 1983 would be a great start. Why shouldn't they be liable for "mistakes" they make? This only leads to corruption.

The NJ lawmakers are gonna try to twist anything if it goes against the anit-gun agenda. Some look at the 2A and say, "Well it doesn't say where you can carry, so we can regulate"....NO!! FAIL!!

It doesn't list where you can carry because you are supposed to be able to carry anywhere you can go. Now even though it's unconstitutional to make exemptions for court rooms and detention centers, even being a die hard supporter of the Constitution, I will relent.

BUT AN ENTIRE STATE?!! Completely moronic to get people to swallow that logic and obviously tied to ulterior motives.

So you guys in NJ, this is YOUR baby. Things there will never change if you don't get different people into the legislative branch in your state. Form organizations, track what they are doing, how they vote, inform other people in your state, this stuff takes diligence. Moving away is NOT the answer, that's the mentality that has our country flooded with thousands of illegals from Mexico, because it was easier to move than it was to fix things where they were at.

How do you think that an unknown (Rand Paul) was elected for the US Senate over a favored candidate that has been our AG for a long time with many political ties? Rand wasn't even a representative, he was a dentist. Mitch favored Rand's opponent for election, BUT WE STILL GOT HIM ELECTED BY A LANDSLIDE!

The power lies in the people, but not if you don't exercise that power.

I agree and actually there is a Fulton County, GA Sheriff's deputy that agrees too. Former Black Panther H. Ratt Brown, now known as Jamil Al Amin,was let out on rediculously low bail on a charge of assulting a neighbor. While out on bail he did two things, intimidated the victim to get them to drop the complaint, and killed a Fulton County Sheriff's Deputy. Now here is the kicker, when Al Amin was arrested he was in posession of a firearm, which since he is a convicted felon, he cannot legally do.

Another Fulton County Sheriff's Deputy said that he thought the officer's family should sue the judge for letting Al Amin out on such low bail, and sue the prosecutor for not prosecuting the weapon violation.
