You are absolutely correct. Bloomberg used his resources ($), now we need to use ours (time or $). From my understanding the Arizona shooter should never been allowed to own a firearm (with the already existing laws). The college he attended dropped the ball by not reporting his unusual behavior(that in itself should have prevented the shooter from passing the background check), it would not have hurt if his parents had been paying better attention. It would appear Bloomberg, and many others, believe by add more laws, it will make the lawbreakers, law abiding citizens. I know we can not stop all the BG before they commit a crime, but once caught, we can and should prevent them from doing it again. I know they can regulate, confiscate, and ban guns, but I also know they can not eliminate guns completely. Example: Drugs are banned, regulated, confiscated, and war has been declared on them. Results: Thousand dead, Millions if not billions spent with no real change in the use of drugs. Drugs might not be good, but the results from gov. actions IMHO worse. It is easy to get excited and passionate over things we strongly believe. I have sat across the kitchen table with like minded friends using the same words as you, but on a public forum or public conversation we need to (IMHO) tone it down a notch or we will scare away the ones we intend to inform. Cool heads will prevail.
