Default Canada Ends Gun Registration "Good News for our Neighbor to the North" but........

Right next door in New York the State Assembly is preparing a bill that outlaws any and all "high capacity magazines" which will in effect, turn thousands of New York Citizens into criminals with the stroke of a pen.

    A5866A - Jeffries
Makes all large capacity ammunition feeding devices, regardless of date of
manufacture, subject to the provisions of the penal law
Currently on Assembly Codes Committee Agenda and has completed the third reading. Next step is a vote on the floor.

This is mayor bloomy's latest attempt. He is using the Arizona Giffords Shooting to eliminate any magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds buy organizing State Legislators Against Illegal Guns.
Yes New York is the First to sign on to SLAIG but he will be recruiting in your state soon enough.

In NY Not all democrats are anti gunners but almost all of the anti gunners are democrats. Somehow I think it probably holds true in the other states as well.

Actually in IA, A democratic governor passed their conceal carry bill. As far as this "spreading" I would just like to say, that's basically not going to happen. NY, NJ, IL, MA, and CA all have crazy and insane firearms laws. The rest of the country is not full of idiots that believe what they do. Now I do believe that there are people in every state that would like to do away with guns completely, but in MANY states firearms laws are getting BETTER not worse.....

Next they will be saying you can't have a quiver that holds more than 5 arrows. Why not say you can only have a single shot gun, but isn't there a saying somewhere "One shot one kill"? So what is the thing about high capasity mags?

Another example that proves, the fight for our rights will continue. Some say, if, if, if, if, if. It can not happen, too many variables to fall in place for us to lose our rights. The gun grabbers are always working to limit our rights, and Obama is doing his part (maybe not as obvious-under the radar). They are always putting their ducks in a row, we have to keep shooting the ducks down.

Yes, and I think the best place to spend resources on this fight is at the state level.

NYS is coming closer to having a constitutional convention to addresses budgetary issues. We currently have a "bargain to get it get it" governor, and I believe the time is ripe to get a strong 2A type amendment into the NYS Constitution in exchange for the budgetary provisions being sought by the governor.

A state constitutional provision that provides the right to own and carry firearms is way more valuable than a SCOTUS decision that says the same.

Please, people, get the verbiage correct. There is NO SUCH THING as a "high capacity" magazine. In my mind it's kinda like using the vilified term "assault weapon" when referring to semi-auto rifles with detachable magazines and some cosmetic features. Let's start getting the terminology back into our court, how about "normal capacity" magazines. The limited variety, say 10 rounds or less, should be "less than normal capacity" magazines...

Repeat after me: "normal capacity magazines". Good! Now say this: "less than normal capacity magazines". OK, class, now go write those letters to your local news/indoctrination outlets, television, radio and written media.
