You don't need residency to get a permit in FL...they are probably the highest issuer of non-resident permits.
Did the class you took include a live fire portion? If so then it probably meets FL's requirements.
Hi,
I have a LTC-A in Massachusetts. I live in Mass but spend a lot of time in Florida and maintain an address (a condo) there. I also have a Florida Drivers License (Florida only)
Q1. Do I qualify for a FL LTC?
Q2. Do I need to attend a class to get my FL LTC? I attended a Mass State Police approved class.
Q3. Is my Florida drivers license enough to prove dual residency?
Q4. Does that mean I also get all the reciprocals?

Hi I just moved to FL.from MA. a couple years ago.I had a Ma. LTC but FL. won't honor it. But you don't have to be a FL.resident to get a permit. They will give you a none resident permit. You have to live in the state 1YEAR full time to get a resident permit. No such thing as dual residency according to the licensing authority when I tried that. And I thought better of trying to B- S- ing them. The none resident permit is not honored by all states you need to check the list.I am so glad to be out of MA.I feel free down here.Took a while to get used to it NO PEMIT TO BUY A GUN HANDGUN OR RIFLE not even BB'S![]()
