Exclamation Does Florida Non-Resident Permit remain legal if I move to another state?

I'm living in Ohio and will be obtaining a FL out of state license while living here. When I move to Kentucky in a year or so, will the FL license remain valid? Thanks.

Sure it will. Just be sure to call FL and give them your new address info.

Florida has reciprocity with KY so the short answer is YES, it will remain valid.

My advice to you, go to the FL site and print out the KY reciprocity agreement and keep a copy in your glove box.

Even if KY didnt have reciprocity with FL, the FL permit would still be valid...just not in KY...

That said, KY honors ALL other states' permits.

I teach the Florida Permit Class here in Ohio and YES, your Permit will be Valid In Kentucky. Once you Move, you must file a Change Of Address Request with Florida and thats all you will need to do Other than Study Kentucky CCW Laws and get accustom to them. Lucky you, Kentucky is Beautiful

Talking Is it the same application form as for FL residents?

Thank you for all the replies (and so fast)! I tried to contact the FL dept of agriculture, but they never got back to me. I've had the OH permit for a while now, but that will be void as soon as I sell my OH house. And for the record, once I live in KY, I will be getting their permit as well (then I'll be legal in Colorado additionally).

I requested a packet from the FL website and should be getting it soon. It's the same form I would fill out if I were a resident, right? I mean, certainly they know that I'll be out-of-state when they see my address is in OH, right?

And then how do I get the fingerprinting done for cheap? Does the bank do that, or do I have to take it to my sheriff?

Sorry so many questions, but I really do appreciate your help.

Just a thought. SInce you haven't sent it in yet....you could consider the ARizona permit. It's half the cost of FL, you can use your OH permit for the training requirement, and the prints can be done by anybody. FL prints must be done by LEO.

I looked at the AZ one, and it says it could take up to 75 days to get! I bet the FL is faster. It also says I have to use fingerprint cards provided by my instructor, which I don't have anymore.

Call or email them for app packet. They will include 2 print cards. Turn around time will be about 2 weeks. They have their system down to a science in AZ.
