but double check that to make sure
This is a discussion on Carring in Glovebox by non permit holder within the Florida Discussion and Firearm News forums, part of the Firearms Discussion by State category; I just need to make sure that still applies as my wife has not gotten her FL. CCW license yet. ...
I just need to make sure that still applies as my wife has not gotten her FL. CCW license yet.

It can also be carried, really, any place in the car if its in a secure container. A secure container is defined by Florida statute as a holster, zippered gun pouch, gun box (like the one it came in from the factory), glove box, or center console. A great web site that I use regularly is USA Carry - Your #1 Concealed Carry Resource and Community
It is lawfull to carry a handgun in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle in Florida without a license IF it is concealed, securely encased and otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. All three definitions can be found in F.S. 79.001; Definitions.
However. Nothing in the statute prohibits the carrying of a legal firearm OTHER than a handgun ANYWHERE in the passenger compartment of the vehicle if the firearms is beng carried for a lawful purpose like self defense. God Bless America!!!
