Cops: Man Shot Dead Over Cheeseburger

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man is dead and a teenager is in custody after a shooting over a cheeseburger.

The victim is 26-year-old Carl Sharp. The name of the 16-year-old suspect has not been released.

Sharp returned home around 12:30 a.m. Sunday after purchasing three cheeseburgers at a Rally's restaurant, police said. The suspect apparently became angry because he had requested two burgers, not three, and an argument began.

The men ate the sandwiches and the suspect left. A short time later, police say the teen returned and shot Sharp three times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 16-year-old fled the scene on a bicycle and was taken into custody Sunday afternoon.

Sharp was a recent college graduate who is survived by his wife and two children

Insane! Tries to be nice to a guy by buying him an extra burger and takes 3 rounds for it!

If he'd shoot someone over an extra burger what do you think he do if he was robbing you??

I'm wondering how a 16 year old gets a gun.

What makes people go WACKY like this? Over a EXTRA cheeseburger which was given to him. Its not like he missed out and only got 1 burger. I second the question "where did a 16 yr old get a gun". I guess it proves our point that gun control doesn't take the guns off the street. Maybe the antis will see that.

What kind of upbring gives this kid the idea to do this? We are missing the boat here some how. Has society degragate to the point that no rule applies and laws are just made to be broken? The golden rule is gone no gold left for the poor.

It's hotheads like this kid who antis try to portray as being like the typical gun owner and use to justify placing restrictions on lawful gun owners.

People like this, or that guy in Jacksonville that went nuts at the Subway, are insane to begin with. They've just managed to make the news.

These are often portrayed as someone who "got really angry" and then shot someone. This falls in line with the common anti argument of, "Well what happens when you get mad? Are you just going to pull your gun and shoot the other person?"

This is totally ridiculous - the people who get angry over a cheeseburger are likely mentally unstable and shouldn't be allowed to own a firearm in the first place. It's not fair to compare the actions of level-headed, law-abiding citizens to those of lunatics who really do snap at the slightest provocation.

You know...you really shouldn't get that extremely tame lab. What happens when a kid looks at it the wrong way? Maybe it'll rip their head off. Dogs that have been abused and conditioned to be aggressive do it all the time.

I keep trying to figure out what happened here. A fellow get and extra cheeseburger and starts to argue about it killing someone. I just keep waiting for more of the story to come out other than a crazy 16 year old. Doesn't matter what or how this is reported something ain't right. As someone pointed out what was a 16 year old doing with a gun and what was the argument really about. DANG!

Maybe they put lettuce and tomato on it and he didn't want to have to pick them off. He should have called 911 like the fellow at Subway or the Casino where the slots robbed him.
