| I'm just wondering if this story would have received this much coverage if the perps had not been police officers. Nevertheless, police officers are people who average civilians like myself expect to be upstanding citizens who rid our streets of the bad guys. Officers like the guy in this story only make people more suspicious of the good police officers who do their jobs well. |

| The story does not elaborate on what Mr. Silber's entrepreneurship entails. Maybe he just decided to become a gynecologist without all that medical schooling the average gynecologist goes through. You know, just get one patient and start your practice. Entrepreneurial for sure. With the details given she apparently saw these "doctors" more than once in the specified months. Would take some real convincing to get me to see my OB/GYN more than once a year unless I was expecting and that dr. was also my obstetritian. The annual exams and OB/GYN procedures are also pretty much routine regardless of who you see for them--anything out of the ordinary (which apparently this was) should not merit return visits! And to top it off, she should have checked her insurance provider list before choosing a dr--I bet her visits weren't even covered! |

| My problem with this is that the story does not say "Former" police officer or "Fired" Police Officer, just Police Officer... Indeed IMHO cops SHOULD be held to a higher standard, but at the very least they should be held to the same standard as others. If he was a real estate agent his license would likely be permanently revoked for a crime of moral turpitude, but as a cop he will either likely keep his job, or at least his certification which is rediculous. Conviction of any felony by an officer should be permanent removal of the ability to be an officer and forfeiture of all benefits and pensions. |

| I guess they did not make enough money as police officers so they had to do a little moonlighting.
