Hold on a second here. I thought it was against the law to take a gun in a school.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A law enforcement official said a 16-year-old student was killed Thursday in a shooting in a Knoxville, Tenn., high school cafeteria.

The shooting at Central High School was reported to police at about 8:10 a.m. Thursday. Police said they took a suspect into custody six minutes later near the school and recovered the gun.

Knoxville Chief Deputy Bill Roehl confirmed the student's death.

The school was placed on lockdown after the shooting. School officials were preparing to release students one classroom at a time, then bus them to a church so they could be picked up by their parents.

So much for high school security.

Another reason why teachers should be trained and allowed to be armed.

You're right. However, the Bradys, of course, aren't going to see it that way. The way they see it, keeping guns out of schools is supposed to prevent incidents like this. Furthermore, they believe that more gun control will be needed to make sure nothing like that ever happens again.

I was once told that the definition of insanity was the belief that you could achieve a different result by trying the same thing over and over again. We see what a resounding success gun control has been at keeping violence out of schools, don't we (:sarcasm:)? The very same gun control that they insist is going to prevent more such incidents in the future. These clueless morons can't even see that the measures they're pushing are actually making it easier for criminals to wantonly kill at will.
